Education RequirementsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of federal and state policies and procedures in relation to current recycling practices and solid waste reduction strategies. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Drive. • Strong organizational skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent customer service skills that include working with others in person and through phone and email correspondence. • Ability to collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, students, and the community in order to achieve the objectives of the Facilities department and Salt Lake Community College. • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in order to best achieve daily, weekly, and monthly work assignments. • Ability to be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision. • Ability to accurately compile and maintain statistical data. • Ability to lead, work alongside, direct, and supervise the work of part-time recycling staff. • Must be able to work inside and outside in all types of weather conditions, year round, with possible night and/or weekend work. • Ability to bend, stand, crouch, twist, stoop, push, reach, and safely lift 75 pounds on a regular basis. • Ability to become licensed by SLCC to operate multiple forklifts. • Ability to find the best solutions for problems. • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. • Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
